Child protection program at Babawatoto Centre responding to children violence and the risks they face by preventing  and responding against all forms of discrimination, abuse, neglect, violence and exploitation.  We educate the masses on child violence and its impacts as well as the responsiveness of  the community and government on the main agenda of child rights s with  the following main activities.

Babawatoto Centre provides critical services in the consequences of child violence and abuse to the most vulnerable children while aiming for the safety and well-being of all children. Also we collaborate with other child protection programs to create lasting change with improvements in policy and services that protect children whether in a natural disaster, conflict, or development setting.

Key results in child protection activities:

  • 1,360 children and youth (712 boys and 648 girls) evolved in child protection trainings and awareness activities.
  • 270 children (125 girls and 145 boys)  participated in child protection clubs.
  • 7 child protection  community based structure formed (5 child protection clubs and 2  parent committees).
  • 142  counseling sessions were conducted to children and youth at the centre.      
  • 480 children and youth (252 boys and 238 girls) attended to psychosocial support activities at the centre

Children who have suffered violence at the hands of adults unseen and unheard, the scale and impact of violence is becoming visible, they cannot be kept waiting any longer for the effective protection to which they have an unqualified right.
